Recap - 4th Annual CIF State Swim & Dive Championships

CLOVIS – The 4th annual CIF State Swim & Dive Championships took place May 18-19, at the Clovis Olympic Swim Complex – Clovis West High School, in Clovis with 885 student-athletes competing from 226 schools. The Santa Margarita girls claimed their first State Championship with a record 266.5 points, while Northwood also claimed their first State Championship with 157 points.

In girls relays Davis set a new meet record in the 200-yard medley with a final time of 1:41.31, while Santa Margarita set a new meet record and won their second consecutive state title in the 200-yard freestyle with a final time of 1:32.44. Additionally, Santa Margarita set a new meet record in the 400-yard freestyle with a final time of 3:19.56.

Individually, Miranda Heckman (Granada) won her second consecutive state crown in the 200-yard freestyle and third consecutive state title in the 500-yard freestyle. Amalie Fackenthal (Country Day) won her second consecutive state titles in both the 50-yard freestyle, tying her state record of 22.45 and 100-yard freestyle, setting a new state record of 48.43. Zoie Hartman (Monte Vista) set a new state record in the girls 100-yard breaststroke with a final time of 59.66, while also taking home the girls 200-yard individual medley crown.

In boys relays Oak Ridge won their third consecutive state title in the 200-yard medley. Bellarmine set a new meet record in the 200-yard freestyle with a final time of 1:22.34 and won the 400-yard freestyle.

Individually, Alexei Sancov (Northgate) won his second consecutive state crown in the 200-yard freestyle with a new meet record of 1:34.13. Andrew Koustik (Calvary Chapel) set a new state record in the boys 500-yard freestyle with a final time of 4:19.14. Jonah Cooper (Foothill) won his second consecutive state title in the 100-yard backstroke and Ben Dillard (Oak Ridge) set a new state record in the boys 100-yard breaststroke with a final time of 53.96.
