Recap - 5th Annual CIF State Swim and Dive Championships

CLOVIS – The 5th annual CIF State Swim & Dive Championships took place May 10-11, at the Clovis Olympic Swim Complex – Clovis West High School, in Clovis with 907 student-athletes competing from 236 schools. The Santa Margarita girls claimed their second consecutive State Championship finishing with 230 points, while the San Ramon Valley Boys won their first State Championship finishing with 177 points.

In girls relays Torrey Pines set a new meet record in the 200-yard medley with a final time of 1:41.20. Santa Margarita won their third consecutive State Championship in the 200-yard freestyle with a meet record of 1:31.97 and repeated in the 400-yard freestyle as State Champions.

Individually, Savannah Stocker (El Toro) won her second consecutive state crown in girls dive competition, setting a new state record with a final score of 538.75. Ella Ristic (Santa Margarita) set a meet record in the 200-year freestyle with a final time of 1:45.82 and also claimed the 100-yard freestyle title. Grace Bristow (Murrieta Mesa) set a state record in the paralympic 50-yard freestyle (28.58) and paralympic 100-yard freestyle (1:02.49). Mia Kragh (Torrey Pines) set a meet record in the 100-yard butterfly with a final time of 52.26. Sophia Kosturos (Miramonte) set a meet record in the 100-yard backstroke with a final time of 52.94.

In boys relays Loyola won their first state title in the 200-yard medley with a meet record time of 1:29.78. San Ramon Valley set a new meet record in the 200-yard freestyle with a final time of 1:22.13. Oak Ridge won their first State Championship in the 400-yard freestyle with a meet record time of 2:59.77.

Individually, Andrew Harness (Villa Park) set a new state record in boys dive competition with a final score of 640.85. Ethan Hu (Harker) set meet records in the 200-year IM (1:45.44) and 100-yard butterfly (45.72). David Dove (Liberty) won his second consecutive state crown in the paralympic 50-yard freestyle, setting a new meet record with a final time of 24.61. Noah Jaffe (San Dieguito) set a new paralympic 100-yard freestyle record with a final time of 54.00. Ben Dillard (Oak Ridge) won his second consecutive state title in the 100-yard breaststroke with a meet record time of 52.74.
