28th Annual CIF State Cross Country Championships Recap

FRESNO – The 28th annual CIF State Cross Country Championships presented by Farmers had many new top-10 team times, including the Ventura boys posting a division II top team time course record (77:43) and the Brea Olinda Boys setting a division III top team time course record (78:13), while the Saugus girls (DII) claimed their eighth State title.

Individually, Caleb Webb (DIV boys) from Big Bear and Fiona O’Keeffe (DI girls) from Davis, each won their second consecutive State Championships. Also, of note was Trevor Reinhart of Marin Academy who set a new DV boys course record with a final of 14:59 en route to his first State title.  Additionally, Rylee Bowen from Sonoma Academy won the division V girls race as a freshman and Phillip Rocha (DI boys) of Arcadia won his first State Championship with a time of 14:58, also good for fifth all-time amongst junior boys.


In team competition Palos Verdes won the division III girls race for their fifth team title, while the Great Oak girls won the division I race for their fourth State Championship.
